I love golf and wish I had time to play more. Though many perceive it as a solitary sport, you often rely (certainly when starting out,) on people with more knowledge and experience to help you get better at playing and fulfill your potential. And that is very much the same when it comes to financial planning. With almost 30 years of experience in advising and supporting clients in investments, pensions, trusts, and tax planning, my role as a financial adviser is very similar to that of a coach on the golf course. I show people the lie of land ahead of them, listen to what they want to achieve, and assess what they have in order to play. I then show them where they should be aiming and how best to get there. As well as helping clients in the success of their financial journey, I have always been a passionate champion for qualification, transparency, and accountability within the profession, and striven to lead by example. Committing to professional development that has kept me amongst the highest qualified advisers in the country, completing my degree in Financial Planning and Services with the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2012, and continuing my studies to be a Fellow and Chartered Financial Planner.
